I finally gave in to temptation...

I have been resisting buying a drone for over a year...until today. My thought has always been - how much drone footage can you actually shoot before the novelty wears off? Decided if I can come up with 50 drone videos to shoot for my YouTube channel - I would buy one. I came up with 75. So I am cashing in on some of the money "the bucket" video has made and ordered a DJI Mavic Pro along with a number of a la carte accessories (at a better deal than any package price I could find).  91,92,75,0,B

Ooohh, I'm envious!

That's the one I have my eye on, too, for traveling with around North America and hope to get it within a month or so. The DJI Mavic Pro seems like the most capable, with some pretty cool features, and provides the best bang for the buck.

If I have it with me next time I'm out that way, and you're up for it, might be cool to put them both in the air and film each other or use one as B reel, etc.

Eager to see how you put it to use at TFL.

Way back around 2000 I kept putting off buying my first computer wondering how I could justify the expense. It didn't take long for it to pay for itself several times over thanks to a new thing called "ebay". Enjoy your drone. Looking forward to the videos.

Good for you John.
We never get out to our place out there often enough. I know you will have numerous videos to entertain yourself and countless others. It's just another way to fly.

I just watched the video Kristen Dunston(???) did about you - and was so intrigued I had to look you up - so glad you do a blog and better yet - so glad you do a youtube channel - going there next to sub - but as far as a drone - me - I love watching videos with drone footage - I watch another yt channel (Life in a box) and he starts and ends each video with drone footage and they are my favorite parts lol - and I watch to see if it is new footage or not - I love seeing the small changes he makes to his property - like finishing his fence - or finishing a garden area, etc... cant wait to start watching all your videos - so glad I found ya - this will be a fun adventure :) Oh - my comments on your videos will be from MJ Healthy Living Miss Judy (thats me :)

I thought that might be fun until I looked at the price point. :-) My absent now snow bird Italian neighbor with a gun and the Mexican neighbor with guns who kills wild animals would most likely shoot it down anyway. Mostly all the people in this upscale neighborhood are fully armed anyway. (I did get a pickup truck. Does that count? The head sheriff questioned me about why I do not have a gun though. Surprise.)

I know nothing about drones but this Casey Neistat video makes me think you got a good buy:
GREATEST DRONE EVER!! DJi Mavic Pro
As much as I like to keep both feet on the ground I think I could fly this way.
