foggy morning

Socked in by heavy fog this morning.  Ben was ready for his breakfast alfalfa - served in the mist.  Tackled the leaking gas tank today.  Decided against the epoxy and went straight for the weld.  Got lucky and didn't burn through the thin tank metal, and because I cleaned the tank out really well - it didn't explode.  Not very pretty, but the leak is sealed.  64,79,58,0,C,.12

the fog...

Had a nice long deep fog roll in from the east this morning but only 90% humidity so hardly a trace of water in the gutters.  Clear as a bell at the Field Lab but Mt. McKenna a mile away was engulfed in the low mist.  Took a break from rock breaking to work on the new prototype solar oven.  Got the basic shell together lined with sheet metal.  For awhile I was in a time machine zone today...I built a lot of video monitor props back in NYC using all the same techniques that I am using to line these ovens.  64,85,39,39,0,B

the fog

Woke up in a fog this morning......a thick, dense fog outside thanks to 96% humidity. Still pea soupy at 9:30AM when I headed to the GrubShack. It was just starting to finally clear over the east side of the HWY by 11 so I headed home. Took another hour before it burned off over TFL. Easy day here just finishing off the last bow tie on the containers - took yet another break for lunch before welding it into place. Blasted Cuban music all day thanks to JD's Christmas present of CD's.....really good music to work to.

My zippy builder friend Ben is back in town to work on his place so I headed over for a visit just before sunset. In only a day and a half he installed a wood stove, 4 windows, a kitchen counter, a sleeping loft and is just about ready for the stairway to heaven. For anyone living in the Fredricksburg area - this is the guy to hire. 46,73,31, .04"
