a little pump action

It has been over 2 years since I have been able to pump out of the arroyo.  Had a feeling I would be getting a chance soon so two days ago I changed the oil and drained the old gas out of the trash pump and made sure it would fire right up when I needed it.  I needed it this afternoon.  Was able to tank 2,000 gallons while the creek was running.  66,88,66, .375",B

willing and able...

A couple of good storms popped up again in the area so I got my "pumping station" ready.  Laid out the lines and the PVC inlet.  I made the PVC piping a couple of years ago when I discovered the soft outlet hose doesn't like to bend when it is under pressure.  It is all ready to go but I'll keep the pump back in the greenhouse to till I'm ready - it really doesn't like to start when it is soaked and I don't really need to make a housing for it out in the field since it is easy to move.  One of my neighbors west of me got almost 2" of rain today.  Me...just a sprinkle.  I have high hopes for later in the week  though...75,94,74, .09",C

fixin' stuff

The boys love chewing on yuccas...that's why I have pallet fences around the two growing in the pen.  Every now and then they figure out how to get to the plant so I go out and screw the pallets back together.  I reckon I could build something more substantial but that would take all the fun out of it for Ben and Bud.   Pepino's pump finally quit after 2 seasons - have some spares on hand for just such an occasion.  These are cheap little 12VDC bilge pumps from Harbor Freight.  93,104,70,0,C,0
