Jobs' biological father was in fact from Syria - but hardly your "typical" refugee. Abdulfattah "John" Jandali was born into a Muslim household and grew up in Homs, Syria - the son of a self made millionaire. Jandali came to the US to pursue a PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin. Jobs' biological mother was Jandali's teaching assistant - Joanne Carole Schieble, a Catholic of German descent who grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. Schieble's father did not approve of his daughter's relationship with Jandali at the time and forbade her to marry him. Only 23 years old, unwed, Catholic, and pregnant - she gave the baby up for adoption. Had the "right to choose" immoral tide existed and abortion been heavily promoted in 1954, Steve Jobs most likely would have never been born. How many brilliant innovators have been lost to the 50+ million abortions that have occurred in this country since Jobs was allowed to live? 52,64,40,0,C

CRH
While running errands yesterday, I decided to try my luck at a little coin roll hunting. Stopped by my bank and swapped $100 of paper for 200 half dollar coins. Went through the rolls this morning and found a wide variety right down to 1971 (pay dirt starts at 1970). 1965 - 1970 is 40% silver...1964 and earlier is 90% silver. Oh well...not out any money and now I have 5 pounds of pocket change. Pehaps I'll give it another shot next time I go to town. 42,56,50,0,W
