4 1/2 years...

The brutal summer heat took its toll on my 4+ year old tomato clones.  These two 6th generation rooted cuttings may be the last hope of keeping the dream alive.  88,92,67,0,B

Window project

Been thinking about adding a south facing window to the hut.  For about the same price as an actual window from McCoy's Building Supply (+ having to cut a hole in a wall), I can rig a big TV and one of my Wyze cameras - to see the view OR stream Prime Video movies.  88,94,68,0,B

obtain favour

Proverbs 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

clogged work flow...

Hit a production snag this morning.  After 4.5 years, it's time to replace the nozzle on my 3D printer.  I'm surprised it lasted this long.  Replacement nozzle kit will be here next Wednesday.  Back in my NYC days - this would have only meant a couple of subway rides to the appropriate stores, and I would be back in business within hours instead of days.  93,103,66,0,B

who...

Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. 4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. 5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Movement programming - Part A

Got delivery on Friday of more Arduino Nano microcontrollers so I could try this out.  Amazed once again that this actually worked as advertised when I wired everything up and ran the code.  The only problem with this method is the programming only runs while the microcontroller is powered.  It is lost when powered off.  Another controller that is a bit more robust and some metal gear servos coming next Friday for the robotic arm project.  Until then I will try to figure out something clever to do with what I have.  99,103,65,0,B

It has been a while...

\
I usually spot one rattlesnake per year at TFL, but I haven't seen one since 2019. Last night this guy was coiled up right next to the faucet of a water tank and I spotted him just before I reached down to turn the faucet on. I "dispatched him" with my 22 rifle. Easy to put the barrel right up to his head and end him quickly and precisely without causing damage to the rest of the body. He was rather small at only 30". I don't like to skin them right away because a dead rattlesnake will keep moving for about an hour. I prefer to bag and refrigerate it overnight before skinning. 97,102,72,0,B

Bright eyes demo...

This is the second try at installing lights for the eyes.  The first product I bought said it was "bendable" but was stiff plexiglass that ended up breaking even when I tried to heat it to bend.  There were no specific instructions on how to bend it.  What I am using here worked out perfectly as it is made out of soft polyvinyl chloride and very bendable without having to apply any heat.  98,105,67,0,B

short and heavy?

check out those little eyes...

This build was inspired by early 20th century fortune teller machines. I came across the iron giant while looking for a design for a new talking head project. The 1999 animated science fiction film "The Iron Giant" was the directorial debut of Brad Bird. Among many other projects, he worked for several years on The Simpsons and went on to direct the animated features The Incredibles and Ratatouille with Pixar Studios. After a major career in animation, he made the unprecedented move to live action directing Tom Cruise in Ghost Protocol and George Clooney in Tomorrowland. Bird is the nephew of an English teacher I had back in my high school days. 91,99,64,0,B
