Spirit of adoption...
Romans 8
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

for your holiday shopping pleasure...
If you are looking for some small heavy duty storage options, this might just be right. I tried the "best offer" option and got them for $75 (he wouldn't go any lower). This is the best price I have found on ebay for ammo cans (with free shipping) and the ones I received were in much better than expected shape considering they are designated Grade 2. I ordered on Saturday...they shipped on Monday...and I got them at 1PM today. He must get these in huge lots at government auction for pennies on the dollar. I checked with UPS and discovered the shipping cost with a commercial UPS discount is $48.89 for a 48lb box that is 12" x 12" x 30". That means he made $3.26 per ammo can. One has to wonder how much the military-industrial complex paid for these brand new. 63,75,48,0,B

Jobs' biological father was in fact from Syria - but hardly your "typical" refugee. Abdulfattah "John" Jandali was born into a Muslim household and grew up in Homs, Syria - the son of a self made millionaire. Jandali came to the US to pursue a PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin. Jobs' biological mother was Jandali's teaching assistant - Joanne Carole Schieble, a Catholic of German descent who grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. Schieble's father did not approve of his daughter's relationship with Jandali at the time and forbade her to marry him. Only 23 years old, unwed, Catholic, and pregnant - she gave the baby up for adoption. Had the "right to choose" immoral tide existed and abortion been heavily promoted in 1954, Steve Jobs most likely would have never been born. How many brilliant innovators have been lost to the 50+ million abortions that have occurred in this country since Jobs was allowed to live? 52,64,40,0,C

CRH
While running errands yesterday, I decided to try my luck at a little coin roll hunting. Stopped by my bank and swapped $100 of paper for 200 half dollar coins. Went through the rolls this morning and found a wide variety right down to 1971 (pay dirt starts at 1970). 1965 - 1970 is 40% silver...1964 and earlier is 90% silver. Oh well...not out any money and now I have 5 pounds of pocket change. Pehaps I'll give it another shot next time I go to town. 42,56,50,0,W

Monday Meme
Next to obviously wrong political memes (yes, they are all wrong), I really hate inspirational memes...especially the ones that have a profound quote that is falsely attributed to a B list celebrity along with dramatic lighting and a thoughtful pose. Along that line are empowerment memes for women. As far as I can tell, this one only empowers prostitutes and opthamologists. 67,74,54,0,W

corrupt before God
Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

My new best friend Linda (she is awesome) at Monarch Precious Metals included this custom one ounce silver round with a recent order that I just received today. I didn't know photo engraving was possible on silver! I included 2 of my half ounce Field Lab coins when I mailed the check for the order. The price of silver and gold is really low right now so if you ever thought of buying some precious metals...now may be a good time and Monarch has a wide variety and really good prices. Tell Linda I sent you... 61,69,47,0,B

...but after the spirit
Romans 8There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

My Star Wars connection...
When I was 4 years old, my family moved from Chicago to Georgetown, Colorado. We lived for a brief time in a rental that was the back end of an old boarding house that was called The Alpine House at the time. My only memory of those days was playing in the dilapidated conservatory (greenhouse) and shaving in the morning with my grandfather (he used a razor - I used a toothbrush). The house and grounds have long since been restored and serve as a museum owned by the Georgetown Hisorical Society called the Hamill House. How many people can claim to have lived in a house built by Luke Skywalker's great grandfather (Darth Vader's grandfather...)? I just talked to my Aunt Mary Lou Rutherford (my mom's sister who was married to one of the Colorado Whoopenhollars). She still lives in Georgetown and said the building is about to go under more extensive repairs - seems the second story floor joists were run the wrong way and after well over 100 years, they now have to deal with a sagging ceiling and cracking plaster. 57,61,47,0,W

Monday Meme
I think that most reasonable people agree that war is bad, education is good, and military spending is really high. That is not what this meme is about. This is about pounding the latest progressive narrative into the collective unconscious...free education! 1. Nothing is free. 2. This meme does not present a solution.
Let's do the math: Global military spending per year is approximately 2 trillion dollars...or 44 billion dollars every 8 days. There are about 150 million 5 year olds in the world so let's provide just that group of children with 12 years of "free","quality" education. 44,000,000,000÷150,000,000÷12=$24.44 per child per year. I don't think that will work. BTW - there are in fact 365 little tanks in the meme but 9 are highlighted, not 8. You would think they could at least get that part right. 68,78,53,0,B

the right attitude
Philippians 2
Have the Attitude of Christ
Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
6 Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
