History repeats itself at the DNC

Matthew 26 :  62 Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Well, aren't you going to answer these charges? What do you have to say for yourself?" 63 But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him, "I demand in the name of the living God that you tell us whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God." 64 Jesus replied, "Yes, it is as you say. And in the future you will see me, the Son of Man, sitting at God's right hand in the place of power and coming back on the clouds of heaven." 65 Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror, shouting, "Blasphemy! Why do we need other witnesses? You have all heard his blasphemy. 66 What is your verdict?" "Guilty!" they shouted. "He must die!" 67 Then they spit in Jesus' face and hit him with their fists. And some slapped him, 68 saying, "Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you that time?" 69 Meanwhile, as Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, a servant girl came over and said to him, "You were one of those with Jesus the Galilean." 70 But Peter denied it in front of everyone. "I don't know what you are talking about," he said. 71 Later, out by the gate, another servant girl noticed him and said to those standing around, "This man was with Jesus of Nazareth." 72 Again Peter denied it, this time with an oath. "I don't even know the man," he said. 73 A little later some other bystanders came over to him and said, "You must be one of them; we can tell by your Galilean accent." 74 Peter said, "I swear by God, I don't know the man." And immediately the rooster crowed. 75 Suddenly, Jesus' words flashed through Peter's mind: "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." And he went away, crying bitterly.   ( as I'm writing this, Carl is crowing outside - rather unnerving)

The very purpose of Christ’s death is for the forgiveness of sin. The black mark against sinners required a perfect sacrifice – Jesus. Our redemption is that we are forgiven because of his suffering on the Cross and resurrection from the dead on the third day.
Even though, Peter failed his test by denying Jesus, God in His mercy forgave Peter and resurrected his faith. He fulfilled Jesus' request - that he repent and strengthen his brothers. Not only is Peter forgiven of his denial of Christ, he is the one to enter the empty tomb where Jesus was laid and the one whom God uses to preach to the crowd on the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit visited with Christ’s followers.  Peter’s faith sank low when he denied Christ, but it stood strong as he became a loud voice in sharing the Good News – even until his death.  And so our path must be.  80,88,59,0,B,0

Teresa Elliott

Mark your calendar...Alpine Artwalk, Nov 16&17.  http://artwalkalpine.com/    Featured artist will be my new friend Teresa Elliott - brilliant work with bi-peds and bovines.  Love this painting from her website...could be Ben in another month or two.  Check out her work at http://www.teresa-elliott.com

Haven't been down to the swamp lately.   I got a jungle growing in the canyon now.  First time since I been here that is has been so lush and green down there.  I think I am on to something.  Reminds me of a bit from my cowboy poem, The West is the Besthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwDoLYrMRIw
"The west was callin and I been fallin hard for this great land,
just add water and plants take over and cover the rocks and sand..."
Speaking of YouTube...finally signed up for Google Ad Sense to monitize my videos.  Keeping the ads and donate buttons (I really hate donate buttons on blogs) off my blog so I gotta start somewhere to bring in some income to support Ben.  92,100,68,0,B,0

This just in from Carl Mrozek..."Tex Parks & Wildlife recently admitted that they're again shooting burros in Big Bend Ranch Park.  Inside sources indicate that they never stopped, - that they only said so to appease the public."

killing burros

A filmmaker named Carl Mrozek came by yesterday. He is collecting footage of wild burros to help stop their killing around the country....of course there were none here when he came by but he interviewed me about my experience with them. This is some of his footage that ran on CBS last Sunday.  http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7420268n&tag=showDoorFlexGridLeft;flexGridModuleI
Apparently Texas Parks and Wildlife has agreed to stop shooting them for the time being.  http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Texas-suspends-killing-of-burros-in-state-park-3422207.php  Interesting how the article proclaims them to be a non-native species when they have been here for 500 years.   I told Carl about Mr. Floppy and how I can feed him a carrot from my mouth. He asked me if I had any photos of that, but I didn't. I told him I would try get a picture next chance I got. Well...Floppy came in at noon today and was happy to oblige.  87,102,69,0,B, .24

treat for the girls

Hens got their favorite meal today...one empty tank got nudged by yesterdays storm - good thing the greenhouse was there to stop it...prepped some furring strips for the radiant barrier.  Just 5/8" strips glued in along the bottom edge of the walls...all the rest of that wood is there to hold it in place while the glue sets.  90,103,69,0,B,0

eggs

Ate my first Field Lab eggs for breakfast this morning.  These were the latest two - the first 8 I have put out for the critters since I don't know how long they sat out in the heat (and I'm a spoiled food wimp).  Haven't figured out the economics yet of the food efficiency from egg production of just two hens...but for now it seems like magic.  Did some research today on tiny house interiors because that has been holding me back - and just can't decide at this point if I need to do more cutouts on the container before insulating...so I will proceed and worry about the rest later.  Not the most precise plan, but getting the insulation out of the elements is the priority.  Will have to deal with any brilliant insights down the road.  Two big storms creeped up East and West of TFL this afternoon...just caught the edge of the East storm.  84,106,75, .15,B, .18
