dry spell...

Today marks 6 months and one day since the last time it rained at TFL.  Did a long webcast from the GrubShack today to test out the systems and kill time.  Sorting out a big supply run to El Paso next week.  Checked on the waterboxx project in Big Bend Valley - looks like a few of the cercidium microphyllum are the only ones making a go of it.
My buddy Zuki just got in from Florida a couple of days ago....79,97,68,0,W

Dang! Of all times to not make it to the GS! I could have been famous!

Your new mutt or someone else's?

Looks like most of the Snowbirds are heading north so it may get lonesome down here before long.

tff...not worry, I will bringing the computer to the GS from now on to webcast....please wear a tie if you want to be on camera. Zuki belongs to my friends David and Susan who are building a place 2 miles down the ranch road. I don't know about you - but I'm looking forward to some lonesome time.

Six months and no rain? The Saudis say "sunshine every day makes a desert...". No kidding, I was looking at a global weather/precip map just today and that part of Texas was the coded color of the fugedaboutit category. I hope your catchment system will store enough for 6-12 months. In the meantime, I guess there's a lot 'o water haulin' going on. Is there a community well or do you buy it from...?
My wife reiterated her feelings about NOT moving to the desert today. She just doesn't get it!

The "six months of no rain part" I have no problem with. Thats an easy inconvience.

Thats a quote from "Star Wars" in reference to 'Mos Eisely" a spaceport on the Planet Tatotine. That quote best describes El Paso, Texas. (I spent 27 years there)

Too bad about the waterboxx. I was hoping they would be more successful.

John,
If a water truck is laid on, what is charged for water (per gal.)? I'm curious about the whole water thing. I'm sympathetic with markiesparkie--I'm almost ready to give it a shot, but my wife thinks the desert is the moon, only less so. I enjoy keeping up with what you are doing and am learning a few things in the process.
