Fired up Mr. Heater last night for the first time. Looks like the winter heating season is beginning. Last stop at the hardware store to round out my family of semi automatics...a Kel Tec PF-9. I think I have all the levels of concealment covered now. 54,65,37,0,B

fire power...
Alpine yet again...inspection due on the Toyota - gotta get all legal before the chilli cookoff madness starts. Picked up more supplies for the greenhouse now that I've figured out how to proceed since setting the first section of block. Got a small load of steel for Aunt Kathy's screen room ( Chuck is a bit behind schedule on that project so thought I'd lend some assistance before he really gets in trouble). Keeping them both happy is in everyone's best interest.

Stay warm John. Looks like you might get into the 20's tonight.
Sidearms: check
Now you need to work on a battle rifle.
Do you still have that flame thrower?
I agree that a 12 gauge pump gun (I'm partial to Mossberg 500s) and/or a rifle would serve you well. Stay warm! Stay safe!
As Breda says, "Always carry your gun, it is lighter than regret!"
Ruger's LCR 38/357 also works well for concealed carry.
My thought is why the concern about concealed carry?
The Ranch is all private property where you spend 95% of your time. You can carry any way you want to without a permit. You don't need a permit to carry on your bike or in your truck. So that probably takes the permit and concealed portion down to maybe 1%. You know you can carry a long gun anytime, anywhere without the governments so called permit.
I do not have nor will I ask the government for a permit ( Their permission ) or pay their tax for one.
You have a right to keep and bare arms. A right cannot be permitted. The Constitution gives you the permission not the State government employees.
Why stop with 3? Never have enough..
Happiness is a warm gun...
Gettin' your heaters ready...
Return (of) fire...
Warm reception for the baddies...
Gas 'n gats...
Fire when ready...
Hot shots...
Pistols 'n propane...
Aw shoot, I'm empty.
is there a war in Texas ?
or just a lot of people running around with guns ?
hmmm....
Ok Terminator, where's the Mini Gun? ;)
how many of those weapons can you fire at one time?
I am confused with the concept that being unarmed denotes peace and being armed, trained, prepared and ready for danger does not? I'd be more worried about having three calibers and having enough of each ammo, spare mags, etc. :)
Nice "heaters" in the second picture.
My nephew's got a Desert Eagle .44 Magnum, the Israeli gun that the Terminator uses while riding his Harley in the concrete storm drains of L.A. It's an automatic and it can really rock and roll. A big two-foot wide orange pumpkin appears momentarily just outside the muzzle with each trigger pull. Just be sure to use hearing protection. What'ts that?
I prefer military sidearms with a proven track record. My country sidearm is a CZ-52 in 7.62x25. The only non-magnum handgun round to defeat kevlar helmets. Even outpenetrates the .357 Magnum. Wild pigs are becoming a constant threat here in the wetter part of the state. Worse now with the drought. You'll want something that will penetrate the shoulder joint with pigs. I carry a LLama Micromax .380 in town for CCW.
Nothing like a good gun thread to get things fired up and scare the hell out of the liberals.
as i m not a gun expert i have to stay mum xxxx if i was there at Big Bend i would specialize mainly in Hunting Guns to hunt (and eat) most of the game there exists -Javelina, Deer, bigger ones + all eating birds eg wild turkey, ducks etc-, on the other ones only for defensive preventive purposes...agree with 2Dogs blogger "concealed" stuff realy not needed in the area, no real threar arround there, cell phones mainly do work, would not agree in pay taxes for a Constitutional Right and in real life makes no difference as still can be carried in vehicle, bike etc.
I'm a proud Liberal and talk of guns doesn't frighten me. Widespread Conservative ignorance does.
Read the book "Survivors", and you may think twice about NOT having guns.
I'm not going to chime in about my rights under the constitution. But I will say that whether the law allows it or not, I will always have guns laying around..whether they are for fun/food/ or protection.
you need to finish your collection with several rifles (including automatic assault rifles)and shotguns. You know you will need them all for when society breaks down and there is anarchy and rioting in the streets of Terlinga ;)Just kidding, but you know that concealment means to walk lightly and carry a heavy load without broadcasting it to the world.
