sunday visitors...

More road work for the good neighbor today.
Found 2 melons growing that made if past the bunny eating stage - this one got chewed off at the vine.
Started clearing the courtyard west end (again) for pavers.
Visit from my new friends Peter and Lianne this afternoon.  They broke away from big city life 12 years ago and are raising critters and veggies in Vermont.  Lianne runs the farm while Peter does the doctor thing and plays.  http://7dvt.com/2011peter-thomashow-toys   75,91,51,0,B

The light in the courtyard looks subdued; tempered by the polycarbonate. With a small water feature such as a recirculating fountain to contribute the sound of splashing water, you might have the makings of a small islamic garden. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_garden Cute peek-a-boo pic of Benita. I'll bet she follows you around like a big, calm puppy.

You get to meet some interesting folks. If Doc Thomashow is still in the area, he might be interested in the fluorite from this area. Most of it is fluorescent. I found specimens at Many Stones (from the Perry Mine) that are both fluorescent and phosphorescent.

Great link to the "Toy Story". What an interesting guy.

The courtyard looks great. Looking forward to seeing how the pavers affect the look and feel in there. They should really give it that "indoors" look.

Is that a wild melon, or one that you grew?
