Friday Fog

Super foggy out here this morning
Dr. Deb's horseradish plant is coming back to life.
Got a welcome donation from an over-order at a job site in Houston thanks to my new friends Valerie and Bryan (both wearing excellent tshirts).  They came out today bringing building materials for their own project and had room on the trailer for the bulky surplus.  Had some extra visitors on hand to help offload the booty.  90 sheets of rigid foam insulation (4' x 8' x 2")...more than enough to do 2 layers in both the containers I plan on finishing off inside.  Reclaimed building materials from our wasteful construction industry.  http://www.ted.com/talks/dan_phillips_creative_houses_from_reclaimed_stuff.html  58,76,39,0,B

Yay Nancy Pelosi! She got stuff done for her party and the President, unlike the current worthless hack placeholder. That's why she's hated.

Your blog would be much better, and more accessible to all, if you were able to demonstrate the ability to depoliticize your content...

In Terlingua Ranch, we should all strive to live a post-partisan existence. It's a better way to live. DemocRATs & RePUGS want us to take sides, while their corporate masters steal from everybody. You're playing right into their game!

Love Dan Phillips....he's done some great work up around Huntsville! really cool and very smart guy. Maybe he'd enjoy a visit to TFL and meeting Benita & Floppy. (and YOU of course!)

Unhappy with the sudden politization of TFL.

Very disturbing.

As is the sudden misogyny.

Wow.

Not good.

Well I love her T-shirt and that she is able to help the Field Lab with quite a gift, I like her even more.

Why do you love her T-Shirt, Debbie?

I'd love to know so that I can try to understand.

Thanks.

I see dual-sport bikes in that picture! Love it!

Very nice of those folks to bring you all that insulation all that way. They look like good folks to me. Some of my best friends, and some of the most generous people I've ever known are republicans. This from a "yellow dog" democrat. Your political opinions are your own, and should not interfere with friendship.

Best of luck with the next phase of construction. Looks like you'll be starting on the containers soon. Can't wait to see the pics!

if he can't post his own thoughts/political leanings on his own blog, then where does one propose that he post them? does he need a diary locked with a key like a nine-year-old girl? i trust people are clever enough to appreciate what he's doing at the lab whether they agree with his politics. just my thoughts.

Gary, Jimmy & I sure enjoyed our visit that day, John. Glad the timing worked out from our daily dual sport ride to help unload. Insulation + shipping container+pepino = comfortable desert dwelling. We learn something for our tract everytime we visit. Oh, and I guess we need to re-name the "Field Lab" "Brewster County Republican Hdqrs".

Frankly, this blog should be about about choosing your focus. Do you truly want to discuss how we all can live more sustainable lifestyles? Or do you allow your discourse to devolve to the low level of politricks? Your blog is much more enjoyable when you focus on the things that we can do to cause positive change in our lives...

My friends as a former mercenary in the employ of the Imperialists, I wished that humans could govern themselves without politics but sadly this isn't the case. The rich and powerful are paranoid about being less rich and powerful and use their wealth to try to control those who appear to have less wealth and power than themselves. They especially fear the middle and working class as they are usually far more resourceful on a individual level than the rich. How many rich folk have you heard of that possess the will and talent to to create The Field Lab? All they can do is buy such things.
