corner chaos

Need some more parts from Alpine soon so I prepped a load to be extracted from the Field Lab.  1/3 trash, 2/3 recyclables.  Lots of stuff to sift through to clear 2 containers and the N/S wings of the courtyard.  Slowly working on the outer perimeter.  Starting to think about curb appeal.

My dwarf banana plants are popping out a new leaf about every 10 days.  More beans for dinner tonight.  88,103,60,0,B, .17

After sorting the good vs. worthless for awhile, it started to get hot so I moved inside for a search.  The big solar oven hurdle for me has been finding the right kind of glass at a reasonable price.  On an off chance, I started web digging and finally came up with a site that had good info.  http://www.solarcooker-at-cantinawest.com/homemade_solar_ovens.html   they have a link to this glass site  http://www.onedayglass.com/tempered.php    FINALLY!...I found what I think is the perfect solar oven glass connection.  I ordered four pieces of tempered glass (24" x 24" x 1/4") to use for some next generation solar ovens...pretty happy with $31.50 per piece, including shipping.

Wow. What a 'cleanup'. I've sensed that you're homing in on completing the major features of the Lab, giving more attention to the 'growing' things. And thinking about 'curb appeal' seems to bear that out. Congratulations. A very impressive accomplishment.

Curb appeal Bwahahahah!

Wish you mentioned that you were looking for which glass to use with your solar oven - could've told you :) What thickness are you ordering?Wouldn't go below 4mm...

Are you going to make it double glazed? My oven is double glazed - helps with heat retention.

Nice clean-up job. Even off-grid you consume, and generate trash. So, the Terlingua Ranch weekly curbside trash pick-up missed you again? (just kidding!)

Nice score on the tempered glass. Quarter inch sounds thick, and strong. Love the price, which includes shipping. Can't wait to see the new ovens.

You should throw some of that "garbage" up on TerlinguaTrader.com. I for one could use those welding masks and maybe even parts from the cook stove. Not there right now, but will be soon.

John,

You're a long way from the curb.
