Fog bow

Fog bow is a similar phenomenon to a rainbow; however, as its name suggests, it appears as a bow in fog rather than rain. Because of the very small size of water droplets that cause fog—smaller than 0.05 millimeters (0.0020 in)—the fog bow has only very weak colors, with a red outer edge and bluish inner edge.  54,67,59,0,W

I ponder the implication, what's at the end of it ?

I have never heard of or seen a fog bow, so interestingly beautiful, thank you.

A fog bow. Imagine. I saw them in Juneau, Alaska. I thought it was an almost rainbow. In Juneau there were walking trails around the wooded mountains, near the inlet ocean, by the glacier, by the moss covered rain-forrest woods, and wood bridges over the streams and small rivers by the small mountain waterfalls. There was rain, mist, semi sunshine, and fog swirling around the mountain peaks and hence - fog bows. The air was so fresh. But until now I did not know what they were. I thought it was a lame rainbow.

I thought (Linda) Carson had seen one recently at the 7MSN but i could only find this from 2008. Super glad you got to see one at TFL. http://www.the7msnranch.com/2008/10/skywatch-friday-somewhere-over-fogbow.html

I always thought these were just half-baked rainbows too. Fogbow is so much more poetic.

Whaddyaknow, you learn something every day!
