Good job.

I know the chickens will appreciate it! I once helped clean out a horse barn with about eight stalls that hadn't been cleaned well in YEARS. When we let the horses in, you could see their "shock and awe" at the clean bedding. A few of them lay down and stretched out, which I'd never seen them do.

On a Christmas vacation from Lamar College - about 60 years ago - Don & I hired on to clean the stalls of a very dirty cattle barn. Talk about a lot of manure - it was so deep and packed solid - you had to be careful to avoid bumping your head on the overhead floor joists! We had to shovel the manure into a wheel barrow, transfer it into a manure spreader - and then spread the stuff on the nearby pastures to grow more grass. That last item was the best because it smelled the least, we got to drive the tractor, and the manure was thrown out - without further shoveling! We always studied Chemical Engineering more seriously after that job - because we certainly did not want a future career of cleaning dairy barns.

My doctors are treating a bad ulcer on my big toe and will not let me travel - for a couple of months. And this is the first time in about 25 years, I have missed the fall dove/quail seasons at Terlingua Ranch. Hopefully - I can visit he ranch later on - maybe early 2016.
