It has been a number of years since I have baked any bread in a solar oven. My new oven gets up to 480° on a warm sunny day. This is a test using the standard no knead bread recipe. I used my new stand mixer to prepare the dough instead of a spoon or my hand. It took 4 hours to preheat the oven and cast iron dutch ovens up to 400°. Great Stuff! I started using a bread machine a couple years ago when I realized I could make bread myself for about $0.82 per loaf. Your method must be less than that with solar power.
You might want to try to give the dough time to rise, not knead. A little fluffier but still hearty loaf.
When do you plan to start marketing the solar oven? I would get on the wait list now!
My that looks good. I'm imagining adding some butter and honey ... and a glass of cold milk ... or hot coffee.
Thought you might get a kick out of checking on the "competition" in North Dakota. You guys could do an alternative cooking show.

Scott Brinks...I mixed up this no knead recipe in the afternoon and it rose overnight before I prepped the loaves for baking the next day. Didn't knead it...just folded it a few times and let it rise for 2 hours before popping it in the oven. No plans to market a solar oven but I might sell plans.
Where did you buy your dutch ovens. I looked at some on Amazon. I like the way the handles are on yours better.
Gary...I got mine on Amazon but they were only $13.99 when I bought them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0000E2RWW/
Looks yummy
Excellent.
Makes me hungry just looking at that bread!
