Running off Javier and her kid with the drone. Since Javier became a mother, she has become rather rude when feeding with Ben and runs him off. Although he could easy flick them out of the pen with his horns, Ben is a lover...not a fighter. Nice job Mr Wells
Mrs. Javier is now one of the fattest looking Javelinas I believe I have seen on the Terlingua Ranch. And I have seen and harvested a lot of them in the past 40 years! She must have been eating her share & a big part of Ben's share.
Poor Javier, riches to rags. :-( Not being around the Field Lab looks lonely and forlorn. Her poor child. Javier tried.
A few years ago I bought a Bischon little white dog. I thought to treat him (duh) by stopping at the state park even though he came from a ranch. He jumped away from me. The young park rangers came and chased him with a huge truck (he ran fast) and then had a foot chase after him. No luck (supposedly and in an area I was not allowed). Finally the Sheriffs told them in the middle of the night to give me my dog back just before their friends arrived from Corpus. In the wait outside the gate I met a huge Hog. In my despair I talked to this Huge animal and her (his?) eyes lit up, looked so serious and purposeful and he listened intently. Then I realized I was a blithering idiot, rolled up the window and drove away. My dog is so beautiful and comes over to me, offers his paw and has bright eyes and opens his mouth and laughs and smiles and tosses his head. What a personality.
The elderly lady who sold me the dog had just moved back to TX from CO. She kept the dog a little too long for a breeder. After the sale, the dignified elderly lady looked at me and said, "I think Marijuana should be made legal in TX." (I was dumbstruck and did not expect that on that Sunday morning in the re-hab town of Kerrville where everyone was going to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast after church).
The other day I was at the Veterinary Clinic and talking to a pretty tall blond Major in her Army fatigues, a lawyer. Then she gasped and smiled and said, oh, look, what beautiful dogs. I turned and there were my 2 Coton de Tulear brother and sister, and Bichon white, groomed dogs. Yes, they were beautiful (compared to rough necking around the yard). They weigh 20 lbs. each but are sturdy and healthy.
Hey Margery. I suspect Mrs.Javier will a suitable mate to love & protect her. And maybe even relearn her where the great food sources are located . Of course - she might get homesick for all that alfalfa hay & bring a whole herd of javelinas back to the Field Land to feed on such succulent food. Then John would have to run a whole heard off with his Drone. Or start purchasing a lots more Alfalfa in Alpine. I never have seen any of that alfalfa nay growing on Terlingua Ranch. Cactus grows a lots better there!
