The Book of Life

Part of my nightly routine is to watch the Glenn Beck show online.  If you are not a fan...I challenge you to take them up on their free 14 day trial offer to watch online, or view a few episodes if you have a cable or satellite network that carries his channel....if only to give you a perspective on world events that the mainstream media doesn't.  Often labeled a conspiracy theorist, he has a really good track record of being dead on with how he sees world events unfolding.

I began listening to "talk radio" 10 years ago while on construction jobs in upstate NY.  I was tired of the same senseless music pounding in my ears and rather liked listening to something that would make me think.  I have listened to all the "right wing hucksters" and Glenn appears to me to be the only one of that group that has evolved - growing stronger and more genuine with his message. While listening to him last night, he was being interviewed about the large public events he has produced in recent years.  I can appreciate the fact that he is always questioning himself over whether or not he is making a difference in the world.  While talking about current events in the middle east and the darkness growing in our own country, he gave the impassioned plea "write your name in the book of life!"  That struck me.  We all need to stand up and be counted...to take action...to choose between good and evil.

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away ; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened : and another book was opened , which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I agree with you. And not listening to mainstream media is a step in the right direction. Glenn Beck has broken some amazing stories that were being ignored by the MSM. He's a very brave man.

I listen to a lot of talk radio too, of both flavors. Years ago, I was intrigued by Beck's presentation of conservative ideas. But the man went far afield with his apocalyptic visions, conspiracy theories, and exhortations to stock up on gold, food, and seeds. I think he really liked the idea of himself as a prophet of doom. (Such huckersterism sells when the economy is bad, right?) The last straw for me was when he was caught using Vicks Vap-o-Rub under his eyes in order to cry on camera. Remember: the man bills himself as a Rodeo Clown. Now, that I believe.

If you don't stand for something; you stand for nothing.

The Blaze network is always on in our home. No need for watching 'fluff' elsewhere.

I join you in recommending the 14-day trial to anyone who is curious; our favorite program is now the nightly news hour called 'Real News'.

John, I have followed your blog for years now. Thank you for sharing your fascinating and amazing life with the rest of us.

God bless you and 'the boys'. Keep the posts (and the gorgeous photos) coming...
