Dona Lu

Day of tending to weather related issues.  My friend Dona Lu got stuck down on her property SW of me due to the last couple of drizzle events.  She tried to make a dash but the big downpour last night stopped her at the bottom of the biggest hill she had to climb - she spent the night there.  Had a day entertaining her at the Field Lab while we waited for the roads to firm up. Made 3 trips out on the quad to check the road conditions - had good sun and a nice breeze to dry things out.  By 5PM the roads where good to go and she drove the rig up the big hill no problem and parked by my house.

Tent pitched - she was almost ready to camp by the house for the night but after checking the weather update, we decided that it would probably be a good idea for her to get out while she could...30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm tonight.  I led her out the back way to avoid a few swampy spots and we bid farewell at the highway.  Another 1/2" of rain and we would have been close neighbors for a couple of days.  75,93,71,0,B

I'm amazed how quickly roads become impassable and how quickly they firm up. Glad your neighbor made it home.

Dona Lu should build a "survival shack" at the foot of that hill, for emergencies like she had yesterday, and stock it with canned food, bottled water, etc. Nothing with cloth for the rats to nest in. She could keep one of those space blankets in her rig. Saw Dona Lu yesterday on your live feed. Thought at first it was you, but she has better looking legs than you do.
