OK JW, I GOT to ask cause this has bugged me for ever. Do you intend to capture that water for drinking or simply for the green house? There has to be a simple way for you to take advantage of it for your consumption.
Hey Ben...yes, I do intend to capture the water off the greenhouse roof for my potable water - not sure what filter system I will use at this point. All that creek water I pump into tanks when it rains will be used for the greenhouse gardens.
John, I purchased a Big Berkey purifier for potable water while at the Ranch. It's about $200 but will purify 1000's of gallons of water you get off the greenhouse at a rate of 3.5 gallons per hour. It's stainless and simple. Might be worth a look.
I'm thinking there has to be a cost effective and simple to build filter you could make, that would also handle the large amounts of H2O that would be coming off that large roof. Maybe an on-line search would reveal some useful results. I'm still wondering how the ends of the greenhouse roof will be finished out - left open, or closed-in somehow. I guess all will be revealed in the fullness of time!
It looks good, John, real good.
