My Best Friend

Dick Cain came ridin' up this morning.  I always enjoy a visit from him especially when he shows up on horseback.  The first time he did that, he gave me a birthday card deeding Benita to me.

In the mail today:  my order from http://www.cheesemaking.com/
Got some citric acid powder and vegetable rennet tablets at 1/4 the price of the drug and grocery store options in Alpine.  The Junket rennet I've been using has been OK...but not curding up that well even using 2 tablets.  Tried out the real thing today with just a quarter tablet and the milk began to curd as soon as I mixed it in.  Got great separation and a most excellent curd.

The orange and grapefruit trees are blooming like mad now and the whole greenhouse is filled with the aroma.  Found my first blossom on the lemon tree today.  63,84,36,0,C,0

if they had cameras 200 yrs ago the photo of a man on a horse would not have been much different. #continuety

Dick and Bonnie are both in the intro video of the new season of Texas Country Reporter each week. Bonnie is slicing bread in their cabin in one shot and the intro ends with Dick and his son on horseback with the sunset as a background. Hoping Bob will come out for a follow-up segment with you sometime soon.

I bet Bonnie swoons everytime she sees Mr. Cain riding up on his horse. That's a fine picture. Very sorry I missed seeing that on camera yesterday morning. Cheesemaking was fun to watch. wonder what's happening at TFL today....guess I'll just have to tune in and watch!

update on this post...apparently my closest neighbor doesn't like cowboys - he is serving Dick Cain with a Criminal Trespass Notice.

Well, that is pretty lame of your neighbor.

Thanks for the beautiful lemon blossom photo.

neighbors can be great and/or they can be a great p.i.t.a. — appears yours has way too much time on their hands.... retired lawyer? Sounds like they need to get their mind straight ( to quote a line from Cool Hand Luke.)
Just don't go the John McAfee route...
It isn't Denton Baxter/Michael Gambon is it?

The West lives on through the Cains.

Cheese is good.

How wonderful it must be in that greenhouse right about now.
