I want a wood stove!
When I get a cabin built, I want a wood stove, solar panels, and a "Mr. Fusion Reactor" (I saw that in a movie once)that breaks down the hydrogen in garbage and creates a sustained fusion reaction.
At one time I wanted a wood stove. After six years in Montana, heating my home entirely with one, it is not so appealing any more. Cutting, splitting and hauling 12 to 16 cords every winter just does not appeal to me any more for some reason.
Is there enough wood down there to burn? I've used a wood stove for 25 years as heat and love it still.

There are more men down here with cold feet than I first thought!
I want a pot-bellied wood stove! They are so neat. The wood hauling, cutting, and splitting are certainly a consideration, though. And, yes, there is not much wood in Terlingua. Howard Perry had most of the trees for many miles around cut and burned many years ago, to run the smelter in his Chisos Mining Co. cinnabar mine in Terlingua.
I have read your blog for the last few months and really enjoyed it. I went back and read it from the start.
I wish you had more information about how this got started and why also the steps you went through getting moved to the field lab.

I noticed a Mr. Heater hanging on your wall in one of your pics. I have a cabin in NV built out of a 20' shipping container. I love my propane Mr. Heater, but the interior moisture build up is a nuisance. Any good suggestions to minimize interior water/ice build up on the windows? Thanks man and keep up the good work. You're inspiring!
