long soaker...

Just when I thought I was going to get by easy with the rain this weekend, it started drizzling around 3PM yesterday and didn't stop til about 9 this morning.  Discovered the brushes on the generator were worn out when I was trying to bump up the battery charge yesterday.  Thought for sure I had a spare somewhere.  Quickly ended my torment of thinking it was lost by searching the blog and figuring out it was the spare that just died on me.  I have two spares on the way.  Ended up using my Toyota Generator for a couple of hours to get me through the night.  Plenty of sun for the next week to keep me charged up and dry out my road.  54,65,43, 1.24",C

This is a real diary of your life isn't it. This could almost become a book.

I discovered Dr. Oz Facebook. Very interesting. He is Adyghean Circassian Russian like me.

hmmmmmm...... how do you get UPS deliveries if your road is mucked up?

A real Toyota Generator uses a Prius to provide enough power to run most household needs on a moderate scale with very little noise. You can then drive the generator to the gas station and fill up. Prius Generator

I agree with Margery.Definitely enough for a book. You should consider it John. And the UPS quesion I had to smile. That's if they can find you!

If Manny has heard that we have had rain out here, he usually calls me before he leaves Alpine in the morning. If my road is muddy by the highway, he knows not to go for it and just hold onto my package. I have two UPS deliveries due this week...Monday and Tuesday. I am friends with Manny's wife on Facebook and I sent her a message Sunday afternoon to tell her husband to wait til Tuesday to try my road - then I sent her an update Monday morning after the long rain to wait til Wednesday. I am going to check my road Tuesday afternoon and send her another update. New people out here always have a little difficulty getting that first delivery because UPS and FedEx have to hunt them down.

I figured you had a "system"! I thought originally that's why you got
your 4-wheeler so you could meet him at the main road... I thought I saw
a mailbox kiosk down at that intersection... on street view!

Normally I don't order anything for delivery if I know we are going to have rain. When my road is really wet - to avoid rutting it up it is best to just say off of it with any kind of vehicle til it dries out. Someday I hope to just fly out and meet him at the highway when when my road is too swampy to drive on - that would make for a great blog post.

That would make an awesome post and I hope to see it sooner than later!

Are the roads still pretty bad out there?
