Ok, when is the launch and are we gonna get to watch?
cool photo
I still want to get out there and visit, but need to find a radiator for my car first. Not sure I even want to be on the road around the time of the chili cook off though.
Wow! What a shot!
tffnguy, you really don't want to be driving after dark in the Terlingua/Study Butte area during the chili cook-off. The state troopers descend on the area and watch like hawks for their next "customer". We sit in our campsite on the hill behind the store, watching the highway, and all the cars being pulled over, one by one...
What's a chili cook-off got to do with state troopers?
Forgive my naivety, I'm on a different continent.
pipsqeek,
Drunks. The chili cookoff brings lots of tourists from Dallas and Houston and elsewhere.
Although the risk is much lower in the sparsely populated Chihuahuan Desert, and sometimes it hardly matters whether you drive down the middle of the road or next to it, the troopers can catch a lot of drunks and run them through the money wringer.
Another awesome photo :o)
pipsqeek, you ask what State Troopers got to do with Chile Cook off? Well,LOTS of drunks out on that road trying to git somewhere.
Gets dang dangerous sometimes.
Got to watch your cam for a little while yesterday - looked really good. Keep up the good work!
During the month of the chili cook off the Doughnuts are on a break and the cops heard that chili is almost as good.
Sounds like a business opportunity to me. A bus or taxi service would be beneficial and a lot cheaper than a DWI.
A good idea, at least during the chili cook off. Benita's taxi or bus service.
I wonder what the low was last night?

Willie Wildcatter, That's likely where I'll get one. Thanks.
Just a quick question... Have you thought of any diagonals in your trusses?
Ben
Ah, thanks for the answers guys, OGT... LOL, off season for the doughnuts aye? LOL
I wasn't thinking about the Chilli cook off being a tourist thing, now it all makes sense.
The bus idea would be awesome. Shuttle people around on their way to and from. Some local pubs here in Sydney do that for their customers. Too drunk to get home, take the free bus the pub supplies you. Brilliant idea, safe for your, safe for everyone else on the road too.
Cheers
