Benita's new friends

Good day entertaining my new best friends Penelope and Tony.  Not very often that a NewYorker gets to hand feed an old Texas longhorn cow.  I think they really appreciated the change of scenery.  Nice to meet such professional journalists - P knows just what kind of questions to ask and T got some epic Field Lab photos.  Link to the story as soon as it goes to press.  Benita and Mr. Floppy will be well rewarded for being so very cooperative throughout the day.  66,87,47,0,B

Hello JW,

Been awhile...

Here is a fire link that you will find useful in the future.

I'm producing about 13.5kwh per day as I use the system more, hope to achive 20kwh per day under full load including fridge and freezer.

Have you given any thought to getting your ham radio technician license for 2 meter radio .You have access to a great repeater system linked from Big Bend to Ft Stockton and further. A HT is a low investment for such a great tool. KF5JWO

Hope all is going well in South county.

cheers.

Old question, I'm sure. What do the numbers at the conclusion of your posts mean?

I got to this blog via the NYTs. Been to Terlingua twice... once in 1980 on a Beemer in June. It was 120 in the shade so we stopped at every opportunity and soaked our clothing from head to toe, then took off going 70 mph and were dry again in 10 minutes but cool for a few moments. We stayed at the mobile home motel that was at the edge of BBNP. After sundown, we found a local "bar" and had some beer. The next morning, at breakfast, the sheriff, found us and wanted to know who sold us beer. We were gone to Presidio in a flash.

The second time I came with a new wife in December, probably 1994 or so. We stayed at the motel and played golf, went to the restaurant and shopped. Much more tranquil.

What a place! I applaud your courage and stamina. thanks.

Looks like a fine arrangement you got there, Mr. Wells. Also looks like your web traffic is up by a factor of 10. I hope you are not plagued by fame and fortune.

I just spent three hours reading your blog and enjoying your photos. Nice work. The webcam is fun, too. Benita and Mr. Floppy do not disappoint!

Good to see someone doing something real for a change. Keep it up, and enjoy your Texas springtime.

John, I found your blog in the NYT story and want to thank you for sharing your extraordinary adventure. I've been to West Texas several times, so your blog and photos bring back good thoughts.
