more painting

Got about 4 more hours of painting in today - early morning then late afternoon (the in between is mostly a Field Lab blur - but included tweaking one of my inverters to work again and printing out some plans from the web for Ryan to check out...a solar powered ammonia absorption ice maker . All that is left now is the tops of 3 containers. Called my stepmother today. Saw these 6 burros. Ryan, Chuck, and Aunt Kathy were all here for a late afternoon visit. What else is there?

John, thanks for posting the burro pic. I have replaced my desktop background (It was Benita)with this one. When Bill and I were visiting west Texas, I fell in love with the burros!

Hope you're doing well.

Do you think the burros got wind that there is free food at your place?

Is Ryan going to make this his permanent home?

you mentioned a solar powered ammonia absorption ice maker, good deal,, bout time. The Deep water Tuna boats use ammonia system to make ice to store their fish in. Just watch the Perfect Storm, and the NAVY has been using that process for years.

I have only recently discovered your site, but have already read most the site that I was able to skim through. (True, downside to blog based is its hard to get to the beginning.) But why have you not modified a chest freezer? I came across this when I was looking to build a kegerator sometime back. Basically you put another thermostat in the freezer and connect freezer power to it, thereby it overrides before drops to freezing. Many people state power usage of only about 100 Wh or .1KWh per day. Even if you had to add capacity to your renewable energy, must be more cost effective then your ice based cooler.
