University of Texas School of Public Health

Great group out to visit this morning.  Bunch of masters and phd candidates.  Mandar, Aleisha, David, Ed, Jeff, Avi, Darwish... and Benita (in her first public appearance since her remains were found).  Gonna have to keep in touch with these brainiacs since I think they will have a lot to offer for the future.

Re-strung the fence lines since the grading.  I have a peculiar knack for the perpendicular so was able to square of the area first try.  Marked all the spots for the auger man.  Need 17 holes drilled - 3 each for 3 corners and 8 for the forth corner including the new pole barn.  Plan as of today is a fenced area of 314' x 166' with a 12' x 36' mansion for Ben and hay storage.  82,92,61,0,C,0

I am glad Mr. Cain found Benita's remains and that you have her skull and horns.

just follow the rule of 3,4,5 and it's square every time

I hope you keep Benita in a place of prominence. Ben has some pretty big hooves to fill.

If you are paying a day rate on the tractor with the boring attachment and he gets through with the specified holes, some intermediate holes equally spaced down the fence line will be money in the bank. good luck!

In fact, every 100 feet you should placfe a double post with a spacer and criss cross double barbless wire cross bracing. Or are you using welded steel pipe for the corners and gate?

welded steel pipe with H braces set in concrete 3' deep for 3 corners and the pole barn will be in the 4th corner

How do you check an area like that for square? I usually measure diagonals for square, but I don't have a tape measure long enough for that area...

At 660 ft. ran my H bracing at 165 ft. centers, X braced it with no.9
hot dipped wire...stuck in a 18" piece of 2x and twisted it tight.
graduated field fencing, top strand barbed 4" above fence.Put post in at 45 degrees bracing corners ,stretched fencing tight as banjo string with come-along and a stretcher bar off my hitch. You have that winch on the front your tyoty. It's been there 20 years and still tight and corners plumb.Crack that whip !

It's encouraging to see these bright, enthusiastic young people. They give me hope for the future.

Nice work getting the fence line ready. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.
