Shot down to Archie's for an oil change. I always enjoy hanging out there and chatting with the crew at his auto repair shop. As luck would have it - I stopped in between customers so was in and out in about 20 minutes.
Came back home and decided it was time to fire up the sprayer. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200392034_200392034
It worked just like it was supposed to. Managed to spray one full truss before it started getting really hot out in the sun. Took a break for a nap after cleaning the tool with paint thinner - a MUST when using oil based paints. Shut my eyes for only an hour and woke up to 15 - 20mph winds. No more spraying for the day as it already takes about a quart of primer to do one truss in calm conditions. 81,104,59,0

poor old thing
About getting fly repellent on the Burro, how bout a water balloon type thing? just lop it at him,, or you got anything that would spray that far? Gonna have to be quick about it cause he won't stand still for a second squirt I bet. Still thinking,, get him to walk under an over head remote triggered sprayer? Come on people git your thinking caps on here. ( thought of a paint ball gun, but dismissed it)
when Bill and I make our way to west Texas, I expect to find myself a bunch of burros to live on our property! still planning on being your neighbor once I finish graduate school :)
<3 your manager, Porter
Spray a burro with insect repellent??? If Gordon is anything like Lug Nut is with a water hose, ya can "forget that". It ain't gonna happen.
I suggest Sominex in the burro snacks. Then when he falls asleep, spray to hearts content.
Or whatever puts Burros to sleep.
Those flies would have to drive any animal buggy. Including me. Not sure I'd want the insecticide treatment though. Maybe a good dip in a pool or some OFF. That's stuff is pretty bad in its self.
As for the cart in the last blog I thought that was a VW dune buggy from some pictures back. I've build a good number of carts and it looks like I'll have to do some serious work on my trike to get it to handle the terrain down there.
Caught the "24 Hours in Terlingua" on KERA and it wasn't quiet what I expected and was a bit on the short side. I'd already seen the trailer on YouTube though.
Rope em, make sure you have the benny hill music on and the cam corder. I wanna watch.
If you get the chance Marathon has a rodeo where the have a competition between teams, They catch wild burrows and whichever team can dress their burro in a hat and clothes and then ride it across the finish line wins. It was one of the funniest things I ever saw.
Ok after thinking about poor Ole Burro fly problem. On the farm we had a chain wrapped with burlap sacks secured around it anchored between two post near the feed lot. we would soak the bags with fly/insect repellent and the calves would naturally rub on it and thereby get the repellent . Worked on our half-wild feeder calves anyway. otherwise I am leaning toward the long distant sprayer or the like to get repellent on her.
I have a couple pump up type sprayers here that will shoot a spray 20 feet =/- something along this line. http://www.chapinmfg.com/RCatalog10.asp
You should save the roll bar from your go kart. It looks great with out the roll bar, but just save it. I suspect thst one day in the future after you lose some more hair, you will put it back on with a cover to provide some shade. I say this from experience with a four wheeler that has a roll cage with a cover.
I would sell the four wheeler before I would give my shade up.
